03/13/10 - LUNAFEST

The Junior League of Martin County has partnered with Luna, makers of the Whole Nutrition Bar for Women, to bring LUNAFEST to the Treasure Coast on Saturday March 13, 2010 at the Johnson Auditorium located at Indian River State College - Chastain Campus in Stuart, FL. There will be two showings; 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm. Tickets are $25.

LUNAFEST was established in 2000 by LUNA to promote women filmmakers, raise awareness for women’s issues, and support worthy women’s nonprofit organizations in the U.S. and Canada. 100 percent of all proceeds are donated to charity – 15 percent to the Breast Cancer Fund and the remaining 85 percent to local community non-profit organizations, in this case, the Junior League. In addition to the film festival, our event will also feature a silent auction, women’s exposition and cocktail reception. We anticipate the attendance of approx. 400 women.

It is our goal to raise $30,000 during this event to support organizations that are committed to the healthy development of children and youth as well as programs and services designed to empower women in their physical, social, emotional, financial and intellectual development.
