Vaccinations in Florida
Recent executive orders signed by Gov. Ron DeSantis expand both vaccine eligibility and access.
Executive Order 21-46, filed Feb. 26, allows persons under age 65 who are deemed by physicians to be extremely vulnerable to COVID-19 to be vaccinated by physicians, advanced practice registered nurses, and pharmacists. Previously, these individuals could only be vaccinated at hospitals.
Executive Order 21-47, filed March 1 and effective March 3, broadens eligibility for the vaccine to include K-12 school employees age 50 and older, sworn law enforcement officers age 50 and older, and firefighters age 50 and older. These individuals should be able to obtain vaccines at any location.

The Department of Health in St. Lucie County has chosen to move forward with its vaccination efforts without creating a new waiting list.
Everyone on the waiting list – which at one point had more than 30,000 people on it – had been assigned a vaccination appointment slot as of last week. Going forward, those who wish to be informed of upcoming DOH-hosted vaccination clinics should make sure they are registered with the Alert St. Lucie emergency notification system ..
